What is a Pixelate Tool?

Upload an image and a draggable crop rectangle appears on the preview. Drag and resize it over the region you want to pixelate — a face, license plate, or sensitive section — while the rest of the image stays untouched. The pixel size slider controls how large each pixel block is within the selected area; changes auto-apply as you adjust the slider or move the crop box.

Pixelation works by reading ImageData from the crop region, dividing it into blocks of the chosen pixel size, averaging the RGBA values within each block, and writing the averaged color back across the entire block. This produces a classic mosaic censor effect. Everything runs on canvas client-side with no server upload.

The preview canvas draws the full image, then applies pixelation only within the cropArea coordinates (scaled to preview size). Each block in the region is filled with the average color of its pixels. Dragging the crop box or changing the pixel size slider triggers a re-render automatically.
