How to Use the Photo Annotation Tool
- Upload your base photo using the main image upload.

What is a Photo Annotation Tool?
This annotation tool lets you layer text, text-based watermarks, and image overlays on top of a base photo. Each annotation is draggable on the canvas preview so you can position it precisely. Per-layer controls include font size, color, opacity (0 to 1), rotation in degrees, and a visual effect choice of none, shadow, border, or glow — shadow adds a drop shadow, border draws a stroke around text, and glow applies a colored blur behind the element.
Image overlays and image watermarks are loaded from separate file uploads and placed on the canvas at a default position, then dragged to the desired spot. When you download, all layers are flattened into a single canvas export in PNG, JPEG, or WebP. The entire workflow is client-side — your photos and overlay images never leave your browser.
The base image draws first onto the canvas at its natural dimensions. Each annotation renders on top in list order: text and text watermarks use canvas fillText with optional shadow, stroke, or glow settings applied before drawing; image overlays use drawImage at the annotation's x/y position with rotation and opacity transforms. Download re-renders the full stack and exports via canvas.toDataURL or toBlob.
